All-Inclusive Luxury Yacht Cruise through San Juan Islands
August 7, 2024Washington’s San Juan islands have 172 named islands, which are breathtaking, and we want to share them with you aboard our 85 foot yacht the MV Northern Song.
If you have called our office, you have spoken to Audrey. She is an Alaskan local and a lover of the San Juan Islands. She has spent a lot of time boating through them, so we have created a cruise for you!
There are three major islands: Orcas, San Juan, and Lopez.
The Washington State ferry travels to these islands, but our cruises also take you to the untouched hidden gems and a few of our favorite spots.
Sucia Island is a popular marine park and yachting destination. It offers great flat hikes, limestone caves, madrona trees, kayaking, and bird watching. The island is made up of ten islands in the shape of a hand.
San Juan Island is another popular stop with the coastal town of Friday Harbor, fun shopping, seafood restaurants, a fun rustic clam, mussel, and oyster farm, and lighthouses, Lime Kiln and Cattle Point Lighthouse. Whales can be seen at Lime Kiln Lighthouse and Park, but we always have the best views aboard the MV Northern Song for marine life!
Eastsound on Orcas Island is an artsy coastal town with small boutiques selling local wares, farmed goods, and charming restaurants. Mount Constitution is the tallest peak in the San Juan Islands, and travelers can hike or drive to the top to experience the majestic views.
Cypress Island is an aquatic reserve.
It has two campgrounds with views of the Bellingham Channel and Mount Baker. There are many miles of trails, beautiful beaches, lakes, and gorgeous viewpoints. It is a kayaker’s highlight!
Vendovi Island is owned by the San Juan Island Preserve Trust.
This 217-acre island has 3 miles of easy-to-moderate hiking trails, stunning views, lots of salmon berries due to the lack of deer, and two gorgeous beaches full of shells, Sunrise and Sunset Beach. There is a caretaker’s home on the island and a small dock.
Lopez Island is the third largest island.
It is a slow-paced coastal community, but it is a great place to relax, explore, bike, and take in the colors as the leaves start to change.
It is famous for the Spencer Spit!
This lush archipelago of islands is a destination for humpback and orca whale watching, but as an Alaskan local, nothing beats the abundance of whales in Southeast Alaska!
You may spot whales, eagles, seals, puffins, and other marine life along our adventures.
