Alaska humpback whales lunge as gulls pickup leftovers in December
By swimming in a tight circle with extended pectoral fins, this humpback whale concentrates a layer of krill near the surface and then turns to lunge through the dense krill that he has accumulated. Birds hover awaiting a chance to take advantage of any leftovers. This is a scene from Alaska Sea Adventures late fall adventures in December.
Large group of orca
This group of orca or killer whales was comprised of over two dozen animals! Its always a welcome sight and exhilarating when we cross paths with a group of orca.
